Windsor Locks came up one short of Stratford in the count of championship flags, but the District 8 league also won a bigger prize: the 1965 World Series title. Windsor Locks defeated Stoney Creek (Ontario) 3-1 in the championship game, then repeated as state champions in 1966 before falling in the New Jersey/Connecticut Divisional Tournament.
