Florida State Champions in the 1960s

Florida's only two-time winner in the 1960s was also its only World Series qualifier. West Tampa won Bi-State Tournaments in 1967 and 1969, and each time went on to also win Division 3 and South Region crowns.

Mims' twelve inning, 3-2 victory over Lake Worth National in the 1967 bi-state championship game was the longest championship game in Florida history. Florida's booming population helped to increase the number of districts in the state from eight at the start of the decade to thirteen at the end.
