Joliet Marycrest cruised into the sixth inning of the title game holding a 7-2 lead, but Markham Manor stormed back with a furious five-run rally to tie the game before winning it in the seventh. Steve Swinney and Medgar Wilson opened the sixth with back-to-back homers that sliced the Marycrest lead to 7-4. A Reggie Dennis single and Curtis Mayfield double set the stage for Erroll Mitchell's two-run single, which closed the gap to 7-6. After two strikeouts, Bernard Holland blooped a 1-2 pitch into short right field to tie the game. Swinney lifted Markham Manor into its first lead of the game with a lead-off homer in the seventh.

As the winner of the two-team District 2 tournament, Tuscola was placed in the District 17 semifinals. Quincy North won that tournament.
