Summary:

Redlands slugged six home runs to overpower North Pittsburgh and Minersville and capture the state title. Against North Pittsburgh, Redlands pitcher Craig Stanbaugh homered in the second and fourth (a grand slam) innings, while teammate Danny Schaffer also delivered a second inning round tripper. Stanbaugh was in top form on the mound, as he allowed only one hit and struck out 16.

In the other opening round game, Minersville manufactured a pair of third inning runs and made the early lead stand up in a 3-1 win over Carroll Township. Minersville's rally began when John Quinn walked and Nick Pizzicio reached on a bunt attempt. Both runners moved up on a double steal, and Quinn scored on a throwing error. Pizzicio later scored on Vince Earlowski's sacrifice fly.

In the championship game, three home runs accounted for all of Redlands' runs. Schaffer clubbed two, while Robin Sommey also connected for the winners.
